She then added this - Let me tell you something: the only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity. You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there. Viola also shared her Emmy with some of her fellow actresses and the people she says have redefined what it means to be beautiful, to be sexy, to be leading women and to be black - The crowd was clearly moved by her powerful and touching speech, which was one of the most memorable moments from the Emmys.
