A new rumor suggests that the director of one of the coolest movies of the year is set to take on Superman. While on the DC Movie News podcast, The Death of Superman Lives director Jon Schnepp revealed that none other than George Miller, the man behind this summer’s Mad Max Fury Road, is set to helm the as yet unannounced Man of Steel sequel saying quote, “George Miller, he’s doing Man of Steel 2. Obviously Zack Snyder is doing Justice League 1 and 2, we already got James Wan doing Aquaman…I think George Miller is a perfect choice to do Man of Steel 2, he’s going to bring so much to it.” Mad Max Fury Road was a critical and financial success when it was released earlier this year and with Warner Brothers releasing that film, Miller already has a connection with the studio. Though there has been no confirmation of Miller’s involvement with the project and him directing Man of Steel 2 should be taken as rumor for now, this is something fans of both films will undoubtedly be excited about. Of course, scheduling could be an issue when it comes to making this happen. Miller previously announced that he already has a screenplay for a Mad Max sequel titled “The Wasteland” and a novella for a possible third film. Fitting a Man of Steel movie into the mix could prove problematic considering the studio will likely want to see both films get made sometime this decade and it took Miller 3 years to get Fury Road to the big screen.
