Today’s episode of Clevver Newsfeed is brought to you by the new John Green movie, Paper Towns in theaters July 24! Looks like Warner Brothers is getting a jump on the Comic Con celebration as they give us a new look at Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The photos come courtesy of Entertainment Weekly and feature our titular heroes, Batman and Superman in scenes we got glimpses of in the first teaser that include Batman in his Battle Armor standing next to the Bat Signal and Superman being worshipped during what looks like a Day of the Dead festival. In addition to our pair of heroes, we’re also getting a new look at Jesse Eisenberg as “Lex Luthor” this time sporting some long hair. We know from the first photo released of him, he’ll be bald at some point in the film, so it’s not clear if this is early on or perhaps a wig. We also get a look at Ben Affleck alongside director Zack Snyder surveying some sort of street scene that features a shattered bus in the background, but the most interesting photo features Affleck alongside Gal Gadot’s “Diana Prince” at what appears to be a formal party. Fans of the Justice League animated series will notice that the shot is very reminiscent of a scene from the “Maid of Honor” episode that features Bruce and Diana meeting for the first time and sharing a dance before the night is interrupted by terrorists storming the party. We’re not sure if the scene will actually have anything to do with the animated series, but it’s at least a nice nod to the fans. In an interview with EW, Affleck describes Batman as the American version of Hamlet saying we accept the role being played by different actors with different interpretations and describes his Batman as quote, “At the end of his run and maybe the end of his life. There’s this sort of world-weariness to it.” But it won’t be just Batman who has aged. Wayne Manor is described as a “desolate husk, overtaken by weeds and water-stains after years of neglect.” Of course, we can expect to get a lot more information about the movie next week during the Warner Brothers panel on Saturday, July 11th. The studio announced that stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Gal Gadot and director Zack Snyder will unite on the stage in Hall H and give a sneak peek of the film and though there was no mention of any other Justice League members or the Suicide Squad cast, they did promise some “unexpected offerings” at the event.
