A sequel to The Incredibles is finally on its way, but we’ll have to wait a little longer to actually see it. Pixar fans have long been asking for a sequel to 2004’s The Incredibles and Disney has officially announced the film will arrive in theaters on June 21st, 2019. Yes, it’s still almost four long years away, but at least we now know the Incredible Clan are on their way. Writer/director Brad Bird has been busy the past few years working on several live-action projects including 2011’s Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol and this summer’s Tomorrowland, but he is now in full swing working on The Incredibles 2 script. The film was first announced back in 2014, but until now had no official release date. Bird had previously said that he plans to include several ideas he wasn’t able to get into the original film in the sequel and recently told IGN that his focus will be on the characters, not their powers. Along with The Incredibles 2 announcement came news that Cars 3 will arrive in theaters on June 16th, 2017, taking the spot once held by Toy Story 4. That sequel will now arrive in theaters a year later on June 15th, 2018. Pixar’s other releases include The Good Dinosaur set to arrive in theaters on November 25th followed by Finding Dory on June 17th. Their Day of the Dead film titled Coco will arrive in theaters on November 22nd, 2017. So, who out there is excited for The Incredibles 2 and do you think you can wait another four years to see it?
